What a neat idea, Ema & Matt’s pastor ask them to share 10 THINGS they LOVE about each other? I am not sure rather or not Ema & Matt was aware the list was going to share with their friends and family at their wedding ceremony. Ten Things I love About Emily (in no particular order)

1. I love the way she makes other people instantly feel welcome in a group by taking a genuine interest in them.
2. I love that she supports me in my endeavors and celebrates my accomplishments without diminishing her own and without a sense of competition.
3. I love the way she scratches the back of my head when we?re driving.
4. I love the way she looks after me when I?m ill.
5. I love that she finds a great balance between being serious when required and being silly and playful when that too is required.
6. I love that she is able to work go beyond traditional women?s jobs and roles without any loss of her femininity.
7. I love the shape of her body and the way she walks.
8. I love being able to work together in he church.
9. I love her sense of frugality.
10. I love her simply as her, and though there are reasons many, none can fully explain–in part or in whole–this simple truth.

Ema…
1. I love that Matt is the perfect size for me.
2. I love that Matt is so intelligent – and that he uses that intelligence to help people through his science.
3. I love that Matt is generous. He loves to host our friends, to give beautiful gifts, and to brighten a stranger’s day by leaving a big tip or a special word of encouragement.
4. I love that Matt is my best friend. We build forts, go on adventures, and cook dinner together.
5. I love that Matt gets this little, oh-so-convincing smile in the corners of his mouth when he wants something he’s not sure I’ll like. He looks just like Calvin from Calvin
and Hobbes.
6. I love that when I’m tired and won’t admit it, Matt picks me up, carries me to my bed, and tucks me in with a chuckle and a kiss.
7. I love that Matt surprises me with gifts – flowers at home or a note and a special little gift on my desk at work.
8. I love that Matt loves coffee, because I do too! Our best early dates were coffee breaks.
9. I love that Matt has a beautiful soul which strives after God. He inspires me and leads me towards a deeper relationship with our Father.
10. I love that when Matt looks into my eyes and uses that special voice that is just for me, I believe to the core of my soul that I am beautiful and the love of his life, never to be forsaken or lost.

How we met
We met way back in 2001 and were set up through John’s sister, Meredith, and Michelle’s cousin, Karen. Our first date was at the movies at Riverview plaza (lol), we went to each other’s senior proms that year and have been in love ever since! We have been together through some amazing times in each other’s lives and couldn’t see spending life with anyone else! )

How we got engaged
We took a very spontaneous cruise to the Bahamas that left from New York after we found a deal we couldn’t pass up. We stopped in places such as Disney World, Norwegian’s private island called Great Stirrup Cay, and Nassau where we visited Atlantis! John had the ring with him at various places just in case the moment hit him haha. He decided to propose after we spent an amazing day on the private island relaxing, swimming in the ocean and having tropical drinks. We came back to the room and he began to say how much he loved me, that he wanted to spend forever with me and then asked me to marry him. I was in shock and of course said yes! We then had dinner, champagne and celebrated with new friends that we met on the ship! ) When we arrived home from our cruise 3 days later our family and friends surprised us with a party to welcome us home. I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

I am always curious to know what are my clients views of wedding after they tie the knot. Is it quite what they were expected? This is from Kristie’s new Mrs. Basic! I thank you very much Chris and Kristie for allowing me to be part of your day! May God continue on blessing your marriage.
Marriage is pretty much what I was expecting it to be, if not better. You’re never bored because you live with your best friend! You are not judged by the way you look, talk, or act, and how close you become to that one person is amazing. You definitely have to be willing to compromise, but when you find what is really important, marriage is pure bliss. In the short experience we have had so far, we have found that praying together often and letting God be in charge has led us to great things.

Emily and Matt met at the welcome day for the Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University, hitting it off famously with an exchange of witty banter. Their relationship grew into a warm friendship through Cornell International Christian Fellowship, frequent trips to the campus coffee shop, and with some healthy pressure from Matt, as leaders in the Bethel Grove Bible Church youth group. As they began spending more and more time together, it became apparent to Matt that his feelings were no longer merely platonic.
But the relationship was not to be without some heartache, as Emily had a boyfriend of two years, then living at a distance. It took time, but eventually Emily came to realize that she too had feelings for Matt that went beyond pure friendship, and had to make the difficult decision to end her relationship in order to move forward with Matt. A little over a month later and with some frank disagreements about whether they were or were not “dating”, Matt and Emily got together just before Christmas. continue at the end of post

The celebration was short-lived, as Emily went to be with family in the UK for Christmas and Matt went back home in Canada. But absence did make the heart grow fonder, and upon return to Ithaca, the icy blasts of January encouraged staying indoors for long nights of hot tea, puzzles, and cozy cuddling. The love once kindled began to fan into flame, and it was not long after that the thought of getting married became a topic of regular conversation. After making the proper family introductions, Matt and Emily were engaged on April 23, 2011, and eagerly await their wedding on December 17. The celebration will take place at Cornell University campus! Toussaint Wedding Photographer from the mainline and in philadelphia will be honor to be at your special day Ema and Matt. Our story begins after several dating relationships that were not headed towards marriage. We both decided to give online dating a try. We started talking on match.com on June 1, 2010. Our first date was June 12 at an ice cream shop in Lancaster. The whole night felt like a romance movie. Neither of us had ever felt such chemistry with anyone before. Total fireworks! After a year of dating, David proposed to me in a quiet clearing in the woods while on a walk at a local park. Everything about the proposal was perfect! He told me that after our first date, he knew he had met his future wife. The ring is a gorgeous, round solitaire in a platinum setting with engravings. We have never been happier and look forward to getting married at Willow Valley on April 21, 2012!
